Perthes Kids Foundation owns, organizes and operates, the following international camp programs in the USA (est. 2013), Australia (est. 2016), England (est. 2018) & South America (est. 2019, Español). Each camp generally has between 35-70 kids, for ages 7-15, all diagnosed with Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, with around 10-20 adult volunteers, which include a supportive mix of parents, medical students/staff and adults with Perthes. We provide all meals, lodging and activities, within a safe, friendly, and fun environment.
CAMP PERTHES USA is going back to Cali in 2026!
Our 14th annual CAMP PERTHES USA will take place June 29th to July 3rd, 2026 near Los Angeles, CA (Orange, CA). This year, we’ll be having a #RareCharacter-themed camp, to help inspire Perthes Kids to always embrace their uniqueness, show great resolve, and use it character-building in becoming the best version of yourself, no matter what they’re going through when taking on the challenges of this disease and the world. We want to reassure their self-confidence, with positive views on how they look at themselves, and their peers…who dare to be different, filled with hope and resilience, to always know that there is more that just one way to do things in life!
Camp Perthes USA 2026 will be returning back to Southern California at the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center, just about 30 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX, and other nearby airports in Long Beach-LGB and Orange County-JWA). Yes, we are returning to one of our favorite locations we’ve ever had, which was also are largest Camp Perthes attendance ever! Camp Perthes is solely dedicated to kids diagnosed with Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease, and will feature fun activities, sports & games, that are customized for various mobility restrictions, due to Perthes. It will also include a special camp field trip to Valleyfair amusement park!

CAMP PERTHES ESPAÑOL
The inaugural CAMP PERTHES ESPAÑOL will take place in 2027 in South America. We will be working with Perthes Kids Foundation Español and the ALIBER organization to help coordinate the event / La inauguración del CAMP PERTHES ESPAÑOL tendrá lugar en 2027.
