Perthes Kids Foundation ("PKF," "we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (Tax ID 47-3841121). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, such as when you:
- Sign up for our newsletter or updates (name, email);
- Register to volunteer or apply to a Camp Perthes program (name, contact details, and information relevant to participation);
- Add yourself to the Perthes Family Locator (city/region, and an email address only if you opt in to be contacted by other families);
- Make a donation (processed by our third-party payment provider — we do not store your full card details);
- Contact us by form or email.
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and provide the programs, resources, and support you request;
- To send updates about camps, research, events, and fundraising (you can unsubscribe anytime);
- To connect families through the Locator — only with information you have opted to share;
- To process donations and send receipts;
- To improve our website and understand what's helpful to our community.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share children's information for marketing. Family Locator details are only ever visible in the way you chose when you opted in.
Children's privacy
Our programs serve children, but our website is directed to parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent. Camp and program information about a child is provided by a parent or guardian and used only to run the program safely.
Cookies & analytics
We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Our map uses map-tile and font services that may log standard technical requests.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted third parties for payments, email, forms, and maps. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies. Links to external sites (such as the International Perthes Study Group) are provided for your convenience and are not covered by this policy.
Your choices & rights
You may unsubscribe from emails at any time, ask us to update or delete your information, or remove your Locator marker by contacting us. We'll honor reasonable requests promptly.
